2 Cups cornmeal
2 Eggs beaten
2 Cups Buttermilk
2 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Salt
2 Tbsp Crisco

Heat oven to 450 degrees. Put Crisco in bottom of cast iron skillet and place in oven to heat.

Combine all other ingredients. Immediately prior to pouring into the hot skillet, sprinkle in a small handfull of cornmeal ... this will begin to sizzle and get nice and crispy.

Bake at 450 for 35 minutes or until golden brown.
